    This course offers insight into the environmental performance of Redwood lumber, including Life Cycle Assessment comparison of Redwood and plastic/composite decking, information about Redwood’s Environmental Product Declaration, and details about modern Redwood forestry management.

    San Francisco Civic Center Public Realm Plan
    An Interactive Look at Historic Preservation and Modern Design The Civic Center Public Realm Plan—an interagency effort managed by the Planning Department in partnership with multiple city agencies—will create a unified vision for improvements to San Francisco Civic Center’s plazas, streets, and other public spaces. This interactive session invites feedback on how to preserve historic architecture while moving toward a modern development.

    Utilizing Built Off-Site Products in Your Designs To Lessen the Impact of a Shrinking Skilled Labor
    One of the ways architects can assist builders to keep their project timelines on track—even as securing additional skilled labor becomes more difficult—is to include built off-site architectural products in their projects. Prefabricated architectural products also reduce project waste and shorten product installation time.

Bring your camera as some homes will be available to photo...and remember to wear fun socks as some homes will require no shoes! Three distinct recent regional modern examples of residential design by Aidlin Darling Design, Feldman Architecture, and Piechota Architecture are featured during the tour organized by MDC, in collaboration with AIA Monterey Chapter, Santa Lucia Preserve, and the Design Review Board. Tour concludes with a wine and hors d’oeuvres reception
