2019 NC Black Elected Municipal Officials Summer Conference

"Commitment to Serve, Committed to Excellence"

President's Letter

Dear Member,

We  are excited that you will be attending the NC Black Elected Municipal Officials (NCBEMO) Summer Conference to be held August 4, 2019 - August 6, 2019 in Atlantic Beach, NC at The Inn at Pine Knoll Shores.  We have an awesome program planned for you with topics we hope you will enjoy along with some good food, music, and entertainment!

As you are aware, NCBEMO, (an affiliate of the NC League of Municipalities), is a nonpartisan organization of black elected municipal officials and those who believe in its mission to act as a statewide forum and provide information on public policy issues.  NCBEMO represents mayors and councilmembers from over 540 cities and towns across the state.  We provide a forum for information on public policy; serve as an advocate for positive legislative change and oppose injurious legislation; cooperate with all levels of government and agencies to develop intergovernmental policy and programs; promote, sponsor or conduct training programs; promote education in municipal government; support officials in the administration of their affairs; and provide opportunities to study, discuss, interchange ideas and experiences, obtain expert advice to improve their cities.  We also award at least two scholarships each year to deserving high school seniors (based on need and overall GPA) entering college.
We value your membership and look forward to seeing you in Atlantic Beach!
Yours in Service,

Valerie Jones
