Dear Committee on Right of Ways & Utilities Attendees,
After careful consideration, the difficult decision has been made to cancel AASHTO’s 2020 Committee on Right of Ways & Utilities Meeting scheduled to begin on June 21 through June 25, in Missoula, Montana. The health and safety of our members, attendees, volunteers, staff and our host community is of utmost importance to AASHTO. Given the current environment and projected impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, we feel this is the right thing to do.
It is possible that the work of some committees may progress virtually, and that information will be shared with impacted members as plans are finalized.
We regret having to make this decision, as the Committee on Right of Ways & Utilities Meeting has a long tradition of great opportunities for collaboration, information sharing, and relationship building within the State DOT community. Though we’re needing to cancel this year’s meeting we’re in the process of working on next year and will look forward to seeing you in 2021 Missoula, Montana for the Committee on Right of Ways & Utilities Meeting.

Below, for your information is a FAQ sheet to address some of the questions you may have regarding the cancellation of the Symposium. If you have additional questions, please email kcrawford@cmc-associates.com.Will the CRUO be rescheduled to take place later this year?No, the Committee on Right of Way, Utilities, and Outdoor Advertising Controls Annual Meeting will not be rescheduled to take place later this year. The next time this meeting will take place will be in 2021 in Missoula, MT. To get information on AASHTO conferences that occur later in the year, please review our calendar of events here.What is the status of my refund?As of today, with a few exceptions, all credit card payments have been refunded. Refunds made by credit card may take up to 72 hours to show on your credit card statement. Due to the AASHTO office closure along with the stay-at-home orders, we must adjust our check refund date from what was previously communicated. We now expect to begin processing check refunds in May or when we return back to the office. We will continue to keep you updated on this date. If this delay causes you any hardship, please contact me at kcrawford@cmc-associates.com.Will paid attendee, sponsors and exhibitor registrations be refunded?Yes, all attendees, sponsors and exhibitors will be refunded for their registration fees. Please allow for up to 30 days for these refunds to be processed to your original form of payment.What do I need to do to receive my refund if my event is canceled?Nothing! Your refund will be processed automatically by AASHTO via your original form of payment. If you paid by credit card you will receive an email from both CVENT and AASHTO once your refund has been processed. Refunds made by credit card may take up to 72 hours to show on your credit card statement. If you paid by check, a member of the AASHTO team will contact you to verify who the refund check should be made payable to and the address where the check should be mailed. Please allow 30 days for processing.
Will attendees, sponsors and exhibitors be refunded for airline tickets?AASHTO is not responsible for attendee air travel accommodations. We encourage you to consult directly with your air carrier for information. Many airlines have relaxed cancellation policies, and you may be able to change your ticket for a later date. You can find additional information online here.Will attendees, sponsors and exhibitors be refunded for hotel costs?All hotel reservations that were in the group block(s) have been canceled at this time. If you booked a reservation outside of our group block(s) please take the steps necessary to cancel your hotel reservation as soon as possible.
