We take into consideration the newest technologies, best practices and ongoing innovation when we choose our conference tracks. We are looking for these current topics to help shape this year's conference.

  • Instructional Conference Track Suggestions: Monday and Tuesday (Oct. 12 and 13) are geared for teachers, faculty and technology coordinators looking to engage students and enhance technology adoption in their schools. The tracks and topics that are gearing up to discuss will be:

    • Computer Science: Coding, Computational Thinking
    • Innovative Classroom Experience: Breakout/Escape Rooms, Virtual Learning Environments, OER
    • Making: Makerspace, Robotics, Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, 3D Design & Printing, Prototyping & Design, Planning
    • Instructional Leadership: Tech Coaching, Curriculum Design, Professional Development, Grant Writing, Funding, Partnerships
    • Mobile Devices: iPad, Android, Chromebooks, Apps, Online Services, Wearables, Management, Accessories
    • Teaching “with” Tech: Google, Video & Audio, Tech in Content Areas
    • Classroom Productivity Tools: Advanced G-Suite Tips & Tricks, Office 360, Apple Productivity Tools, Maximizing Learning Management Systems
    • Cybersecurity: Digital Citizenship, Security Awareness, Cloud, Policy
    • Library and Media Literacy: Teaching Media Literacy, Online Resources, Community Engagement, Media Outreach & Response 
  • Technical Conference Track Suggestions: Wednesday and Thursday (Oct. 9 and 10) focuses on infrastructure, technology best practices and innovation in technology. It is perfect for library techs, CIOs, new technology employees, technical coordinators/directors and administrators. The tracks and topics we hope to include will be:

    • New Technical Director: Learn the ins and outs of resources at your fingertips - everything from value included with your MOREnet membership, to identifying what experts are willing and ready to assist you!
    • Infrastructure and Operations: Diving deeper in to the latest challenges in connectivity management. This includes topics on creating a secure architecture; technical views on strategic planning and implementation; monitoring the management of networks, endpoints and systems; and improving vulnerability and risk assessments.
    • Innovative Tools and Resources: Emerging technologies have been game changers. Whether it’s IoT, artificial intelligence, blockchain or makerspace initiatives, this track is about what’s new, what’s next and what it may mean to the way we do business.
    • The Education - Workforce Continuum: Aligning education and learning with career pathways that include technology and online or virtual opportunities can set up our students and patrons for a lifetime of learning and successful employment.
    • Cybersecurity - Tools and Resources: These sessions will focus on applications, cloud security and virtualization services. Products and services as well as their uses will be highlighted here.
    • Cybersecurity - Management: Topics chosen in this track will focus on the human element of cybersecurity- policies, procedures, training employees and developing strategy around your cybersecurity program.
