Other Important Registration Notes:
Attendee Profile: The 2020 Collective Impact Convening is a field-wide gathering that will attract a range of attendees, including funders, backbone leaders, collective impact partners, researchers, technical assistance providers, and others interested in collective impact. We anticipate attendees with different issue areas of interest (e.g., education, health, economic development, community development) and varying levels of experience in collective impact (e.g., early, mid, late stages).Guidance for Funders: Funder registration is open to all staff and trustees of grantmaking institutions; staff of philanthropy-supporting infrastructure groups such as regional associations of grantmakers and affinity groups; and staff of academic institutions focused primarily on the study of philanthropy and the practice of giving. Each funder attendee can register separately for a funder-only pre-conference discussion (for $150 additional) from 8am-1:15pm on Wednesday, May 6, before the general conference begins at 1:30pm. Backbone Pre-Conference: The Collective Impact Backbone Bootcamp is targeted to those in the early stages of their collective impact journey who are exploring or currently playing the backbone leadership role. Attendees could pay $150 extra (on a space available basis) to attend this pre-conference from 8am-1:15pm on Wednesday, May 6, before the general conference begins at 1:30pm. This backbone pre-conference will run concurrently with the funder pre-conference. Funders who are also playing the backbone role and would prefer to attend the backbone pre-conference (instead of the funder pre-conference) may register for the backbone bootcamp. The Backbone Bootcamp is similar in content to the 2019 Convening Backbone Bootcamp held in Chicago, as well as the Collective Impact Forum's Champions for Change backbone workshops. If you attended previous Champions for Change trainings or the 2019 Convening Backbone Bootcamp, we would only recommend this workshop if you are looking for a refresher of that content. No Solicitation Policy: The 2020 Collective Impact Convening seeks to bring together a wide range of collective impact funders, backbone leaders, and other collective impact practitioners. To maintain the spirit of this unique meeting ground – where funders and other leaders from the public, private, and nonprofit sectors come together as peers – we ask that you respect our "no solicitation" rule. Feel free to ask for business cards, discuss the challenges and opportunities of collective impact, ask how other attendees are engaged in collective impact, and ask about what they are learning. However, we kindly ask that you do not specifically request meetings with funders, ask about their funding priorities, or pitch your organization/project to them. Reduced Price Registration Scholarships: We are offering a limited number of registrations for $350 for scholarship recipients (61% off the early-bird practitioner rate of $895, and 30% off the community-builder rate of $500). A few important notes about registration scholarships:
