Question: Why was the Ceremony Canceled?
Answer: The University decided to cancel the ceremony in order to protect those scheduled to attend the event. We are committed to the safety of our students, their loved ones, and staff during the COVID-19 health situation. We are announcing this decision now in hopes it will alleviate any concerns you have about attending and about making travel arrangements.
Question: How does the graduation cancelation affect my travel plans?
Answer:

Please reach out to your travel partners directly to make these changes. Many airlines and hotels are posting information about their policies as they pertain to the coronavirus on their webpages.

CTU is not responsible for making changes to your personal travel plans. Additionally, CTU is not responsible for the reimbursement of travel expenses such as hotel, flight or transportation fees. Refunds will not be issued regarding any supplemental regalia, diplomas, gifts or other graduation-related items.

Question: If I registered to attend the May 9, 2020 graduation ceremony, do I need to cancel my registration?
Answer: No. You do not need to cancel your current registration. All existing registrations for the May 9, 2020 ceremony will be automatically canceled immediately.
Question: Do I need to register to attend the Virtual Graduation Ceremony?
Answer: No, the University will automatically register you and you will receive emails about the Virtual Graduation Ceremony at your CTU email address. You will be able to view your Virtual Graduation Ceremony on-demand for up to two years.
Question: How do I login to watch the Virtual Graduation Ceremony?
Answer: The University will send a communication to your CTU email address with a link and login instructions to watch the Virtual Graduation Ceremony. You will be able to view your Virtual Graduation Ceremony on-demand for up to two years.
Question: How do I invite my friends and family to watch the Virtual Graduation Ceremony along with me?
Answer: The University will send a communication to your CTU email address with a link and login instructions to watch the Virtual Graduation Ceremony. You can then forward that email to friends and family so they can join in the virtual celebration. There is no limit to how many people you can invite.
Question: Can I still participate in the 2021 in-person ceremony in Denver, Colorado?
Answer: Yes, students with graduation dates between June 21, 2019 and June 25, 2020 will remain eligible to participate in the 2021 in-person Graduation Ceremony. The date of this ceremony and other details will be posted on https://www.coloradotech.edu/graduation at the beginning of 2021.
Question: Can I participate in the Virtual Graduation Ceremony and still walk in the 2021 in-person Graduation Ceremony?
Answer: Yes, students with graduation dates between June 21, 2019 and June 25, 2020 will remain eligible to participate in the 2021 in-person Graduation Ceremony. All graduates can participate in both ceremonies.
Question: Will the eligibility dates be changed for the Virtual Graduation Ceremony?
Answer: No. Students with graduation dates between June 21, 2019 and June 25, 2020 will remain eligible to participate in the Virtual Graduation Ceremony.
Question: Can I still purchase merchandise sold in the CTU Shop?
Answer: Yes, you can purchase T-shirts, jackets, hats, hoodies, key chains, mugs, and more on the CTU Store at the following website: https://coloradotech.merchorders.com/
Question: When will I receive my diploma?
Answer:

Graduates will receive their diploma kit at their home address approximately 6–8 weeks following their final term (provided all academic and financial obligations are fulfilled). If you have further questions about your diploma or receiving official transcripts, please contact the Registrar Team.

Graduates now also have the option to download a verifiable and secure electronic version of their diploma to share within their existing social network channels or send to other interested parties. Click on the following link for more details: https://youtu.be/G0BAwTfc-HE.

Question: Can I still purchase regalia or other graduation related items?
Answer:

Yes, you can purchase regalia and graduation-related items, such as photo cards, class rings, diploma frames, and more from the Jostens website.  CTU does not provide or ship regalia to graduates.  https://www.jostens.com/apps/store/customer/1008518/Colorado-Technical-University/.

Question: How can I remain safe from coronavirus (COVID-19)?
Answer:

The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) recommends the following preventative actions to help avoid the spread of several viruses, including COVID-19:

  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
  • Stay home when you are sick.
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing.
  • If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol. Always wash hands with soap and water if hands are visibly dirty. 
Question: What if I’m feeling sick or I’m worried about coronavirus (COVID-19) exposure?
Answer: The health and safety of our students, faculty and staff are of the utmost importance to us. If you are feeling ill with flu-like symptoms or similar health concerns, call your health-care provider right away.
