Summary

2020 AAMC Western Group on Educational Affairs Meeting

March 28-31, 2020
Pacific Grove, California

Please join us in Pacific Grove, CA for the 2020 AAMC Western Group on Educational Affairs (WGEA) Meeting. The theme for the meeting is “Finding Common Ground.”  For this conference, we want to celebrate the many ways that WGEA members are working toward “Finding Common Ground” within and across communities. Our theme borrows principles from improv theater to provide a language for discussing the attitudes and skills that allow collaborative exchange and advancement. We invite you to say “yes and” to sharing experiences and programs that reflect commitment to attunement, affirmation and advancement within and among social, cultural, and ideological communities and along the continuum of medical education.

  • Match types of reliability with appropriate statistical measures;
  • Describe the relationship between reliability and validity;

  • Select an approach to reliability and validity assessment for a particular study.

Workshop #2 (1:00 - 4:00 pm): Questionnaire Design and Survey Research
This workshop will provide some basic principles in questionnaire/survey design and give workshop participants an opportunity for hands-on experience designing a questionnaire. Following participating in this workshop, learners will be able to:
  • Design a blueprint for a survey/questionnaire appropriate to their own application;
  • Construct and edit questions to avoid common problems in wording and framing;
