COURSE DESCRIPTION / STATEMENT OF NEED:
This symposium is designed to update primary care providers, internists, cardiologists, hospitalists, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and nurses as well as all other allied health care professionals who are frequently called upon to manage and refer cardiologic problems. The goal of this activity is to improve their ability to handle the issues discussed through a combination of didactic lectures along with case studies in cardiovascular medicine.
At the conclusion of the activity, participants should be able to:
• Describe the use of renal denervation for treating hypertension
• Discuss the current role of cardiac transplantation
• Identify the role of palliative care in severe heart disease
To cover a portion of expenses and minimize attendee registration fees for this activity, we will be soliciting educational grants from various pharmaceutical and medical device companies.
