Conference Theme:

Re-imagining Healthcare: Research, Relationships and Reform

Healthcare systems around the globe are undergoing profound reform and renewal.
In many instances, system changes are based on moving away from what we have discovered “doesn’t work.” Healthcare organizations we work in and among are still structured in ways that largely reflect a positivistic and reductionist worldview.

Social construction, constructivism and pragmatism are examples of epistemological lenses that are useful in re-imagining the possibilities for healthcare. From these related and complementary perspectives, qualitative health research becomes a catalyst for uncovering more of “what works”. Such generative methods can also be an invitation for us to co-create new ways of being and doing in healthcare.

We invite you to join the conversation at this premier qualitative health research conference. Through dialogue, meaning making and co-creating we will form new possibilities for the future of healthcare.

QHR is a three day annual conference focusing on qualitative research in the health disciplines and is held in various Canadian cities every October.
