23rd Annual Asthma & Allergy Update

Program Overview

The University of Rochester’s Institute for Innovative Education is pleased to announce the upcoming live educational activity, 23rd Annual Asthma and Allergy Update 2018. This day-long educational event has been designed to provide physicians, physician extenders, respiratory therapists, social workers, and nurses in the community with an update in the field of asthma and allergy. The interdisciplinary and inter-professional aspects of this CME activity make it unique.
The goal of this educational activity is to familiarize the learner with recent advances in the field of asthma and allergy. Experts in the field have been invited to speak and all sessions are designed to be interactive to keep the learner engaged. Case based discussion will be used to illustrate application of knowledge gained from this course and improve learner’s competence in managing such patients.  The 23rd Annual Asthma and Allergy Update will take place November 8, 2018 at the Rochester Institute of Technology Inn and Conference Center in Rochester, NY, and promises to be a very successful and well received educational event. 

Learning Objectives & Outcome Measurement

The conference is designed so that at the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Apply a systematic approach to evaluating patients with suspected asthma
  • List three new treatments available for severe asthma
  • Describe two strategies to improve patient engagement
  • Discuss the role of environmental intervention in asthma and allergic diseases
  • Compare IGRA with TST for evaluating latent TB infection
