The Annual Update in Adult Medicine is an annual conference in it's 23rd year brought to you by the Department of Medicine at the University of Alberta for general practitioners and other allied health members. It offers quality continuing professional education by bringing you a mix of keynote, plenary and breakout sessions. 


The one and a half day conference will provide you an opportunity to network with others in your field and hear the latest news and research by featuring experts in a variety of topics in internal medicine which will be transferred into your every day practice.

This Group Learning Program meets the certification criteria of the College of Family Physicians of Canada and has been certified by Continuing Professional Development (CPD), Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto and Lifelong Learning (L3), Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, University of Alberta for up to 12.5 Mainpro+ credits

Dr. Lil Miedzinski

"Physician Health and Wellness"

Dr. Miedzinski has been an Assessment Physician and Case Coordinator for the Physician and Family Support Program of the Alberta Medical Association since 2012 . She retired from her clinical practice of Infectious Diseases in 2012 after some 30 years and remains a Professor Emeritus at the University of Alberta. She was the Director and Section Leader of the Division of Infectious Diseases from 1988 to 1998. Dr. Miedzinski was Director, and subsequently, Assistant Chair, Career Development for the Department of Medicine from 1998 to 2012. She held the position of Associate Dean of Equity and Faculty Development for the Faculty of Medicine from 2002 to 2006.

Her interests include physician well-being, mentorship, and professionalism.

    To provide you with an opportunity to refresh your clinical and management skills of common medical problems in the adult.

    Speakers will be requested to disclose any real or apparent conflict(s) of interest that may have a direct bearing on the subject matter of this program.
