The Quality Texas Foundation (QTF) is by charter dedicated to assisting Texas based organizations in their continuous improvement efforts, helping them to build sustainability in their operations, improving their financial posture, and providing them with clear steps forward by utilizing the Malcolm Baldrige Criteria for Performance Excellence. QTF provides a variety of training opportunities to not only assist organizational employees become better at their job, but also, to provide valuable input to leadership as it pertains to the world class Baldrige Criteria framework. QTF has a Board, Fellows, Judges and Examiners consisting of the Quality and Continuous Improvement Leaders in the state.

OUR STORY

The Quality Texas Foundation (QTF) is a NFP 501(c)3 corporation registered in the State of Texas. In 1990 the concept of a state quality award was introduced to and supported by the Governor of Texas and followed the model set by the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award. Collaborative efforts between the Governor's office, the Texas Department of Commerce, and Texas businesses made it possible to create QTF. A committee of representatives from Texas organizations created the Quality Texas Foundation. The Award is available for organizations in manufacturing, service, small business, for profits, not-for-profits, government, military, education, healthcare, and Communities of Excellence.

INTERNAL COACH (Examiner) TRAINING

This training is designed as an introduction or refresher for participants in how to use the Baldrige criteria. Individuals selected for this training should be able to become internal coaches and QTF Examiners to assist in evaluation of Baldrige-based applications. Topics include leadership, strategic planning, customer service, information management, workforce focus, operational activities, and how to measure results.

LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT TRAINING

This training is designed for anyone who is currently in a leadership position from CEO/Superintendent level as well as aspiring leaders who are not yet in those leadership positions. There are 19 specific topics that are discussed in an interactive manner with YouTube videos and breakout sessions. Topics include how to build trust, building teams through strong relationships, and delegation/empowerment.

WRITING SEMINARS

Writing seminars are specifically tailored to the organization and the Baldrige organizational maturity level. These seminars are designed to focus the organization’s time in preparation of an application thereby improving organization performance. The Quality Texas Foundation also has other specifically tailored products that can be used to improve your continuous improvement efforts.
 

STRATEGIC PLANNING TRAINING

The Strategic Planning Training is calibrated to challenge the organization based upon the latest information concerning how to conduct strategic planning. It highlights the definitions of vision, mission, values, core competencies, and motto to assist the organization with tactical and strategic alignment. An overall Balanced Scorecard is a part of the outcomes.
 

WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT TRAINING

This training is designed to address Category 5 Workforce Focus of the Baldrige Criteria. It has the latest information concerning how to work with the changing workforce and their engagement requirements. Harvard Business School and Sloan/MIT Management School articles and research is used to supplement the Criteria. Career Progression, Organizational Capability/Capacity, and a healthy workforce environment are discussed in depth.
