Abstract authors are advised to compose and save the abstract, learning objectives, and author biographical information in a document prior to completing the on-line submission process. 


The Abstract Submission Guidelines Handout (PDF) posted here explains all of the fields that authors will need to complete in the web-based abstract submission system to facilitate advance preparation of the required material.  


When copying and pasting text into the submission system, please review and revise your work for formatting anomalies prior to submission.  Plain text copies over into the submission system best.

Authors will be notified of acceptance by Monday, November 8, 2016.

NOTE: All accepted abstract presenters are required to register for the symposium. A discounted rate will be available to presenters.


This research forum has proven to be an extraordinary contribution to the professional growth of nurses and other health care professionals. The range of topics presented through podium and poster sessions is broad and represents a diverse selection of research and evidence-based practice initiatives being conducted in a variety of clinical settings. We look forward to continued collaboration and success in discovering and strengthening relationships to promote research and scholarship in clinical practice.

At the completion of this symposium, participant will be able to:

  • Discuss changes in practice, education, and administration that may improve patient outcomes in the future.
  • Describe the variety of health care research and evidence-based practice projects presented through podium sessions.
  • Identify strategies, tools, and resources for successful clinical research and evidence-based practice initiatives.
  • Examine research and evidence-based practice changes presented by poster sessions.

Intended Audience

Professional health care providers and students in fields of practice or study of nursing, medicine, nutritional services, pharmacy, social work, rehabilitation services, respiratory, occupational and physical therapy, and other health care related areas are encouraged to attend.
