This conference is designed to focus on the use of extracorporeal life support (ECMO) to support neonates, children, and adults specifically in problems such as congenital diaphragmatic hernia and
end stage
lung and heart failure.

This activity has been designed for Physicians, Physician Assistants, Advanced Practice Nurses, Respiratory Therapists, Perfusionists and other medical professionals in the fields of Cardio-Thoracic Surgery, Critical Care Medicine, Pulmonology, General Surgery, Emergency Medicine, Neonatal/Perinatal Medicine, and Pediatrics.

After attending this activity, participants will demonstrate the ability to:
Identify the different types of anticoagulation used for ECMO and the mechanism of action of each one.
Describe the difference in CDH outcomes when using VA ECMO versus VV ECMO.
Describe different mobilization techniques used with ECMO patients and the benefits of these modalities.
Explain the definition of TAMOF and describe the benefits of pheresis in these patients.
Define the proper procedure for ECMO cannula embolectomy.
