This 3-day conference provides attendees with a comprehensive overview of current practices and controversies in pediatric cardiology.  The conference environment is relaxed and intimate, and it provides numerous opportunities for networking and interacting among colleagues.  Cardiology trainees and cardiologists new to practice will have comfortable access to mentoring and advice about career development.  The Conference will feature a Fellow’s Session with Abstracts, 8 practical informative clinical sessions, A debate, a Key Note Speaker who will discuss Use of Social Media to enhance the attendees’ practice, and several enjoyable social events.

Course Objectives

1.  Describe best practices for most common symptoms coming in to physician’s office.
2.  Discuss best practices to enhance the care of patients with complex arrhythmias through screening and optimal referral to EP. 

3.  Describe the current role of transcatheter valve therapy in patients with congenital heartdisease.

4.  Discuss pulmonary and airway problems in children with congenital heart disease.

5.  Describe opportunities to enhance our care of patients with heart failure through optimal medical therapy and appropriate use of mechanical support and heart replacement.

6.  Discuss best practices in management of Fontan patients.

7.  Describe how to improve outcomes beyond survival in patients with congenital heart disease: optimizing neurodevelopmental status.

8.  Review and analyze the uses and role of genetics in caring for patients with congenital heart disease.
