Program Overview

The science of palliative care is evolving rapidly. Palliative care is practiced by both generalists and specialists across a variety of professional disciplines. 

This conference targets an inter-disciplinary audience of palliative care generalists and specialists from the Western New York Region to establish an annual venue for continuing professional education in the evolving science and practice of palliative care.

At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:
  1. Explain strategies for improving communication skills when talking with seriously ill patients in palliative care.
  2. Describe scientific updates in research in palliative care.
  3. Identify current palliative care needs for patients with stroke and their families.
  4. Apply new knowledge and skills to appropriately treat and manage patients in palliative care.
