Come and experience the 33rd Annual Governor’s Safety and Health Conference and Exposition! The 2017 Conference and Exposition is May 8-12, 2017 at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center in Covington, KY! Along with a new and dynamic venue comes this year’s “Made Safely in Kentucky” theme, chosen to showcase the many products and services provided by Kentucky employers and employees that put safety first.Kentucky’s leading safety advocate for over 30 years, the Kentucky Safety and Health Network (KSHN) is a nonprofit membership organization with the mission to increase the awareness of safety and health in the workplace. Drawing upon the knowledge and expertise of its business, education, government, and labor members, KSHN has set the stage for a one-of-a-kind conference experience. The event provides the knowledge and empowers attendees to create a safer workplace. It’s the safety conference you and your team shouldn’t miss. The Conference has always featured concurrent workshops that address topics relevant to occupational safety and health. The conference again provides a learning and networking experience showcasing interactive training opportunities, compelling keynote speakers, and breakout sessions covering a wide range of topics regarding occupational safety and health – all taught by top safety and health professionals. Networking opportunities abound at every Governor’s Conference and Exposition, and the 2017 event is no exception. Both the Conference and the Exposition facilitate an environment where attendees can develop a network of contacts with individuals that share a common occupational safety and health interest. The 2017 Conference features an all new state-of-the-art Exhibit Hall offering attendees an opportunity to see the latest products, services, and technologies at the largest gathering of its kind in Kentucky. Expanded exhibit hall activities specific to the 2017 event facilitate interaction between attendees and exhibitors to build and strengthen professional relationships.$35,500 was awarded at the 2016 conference in scholarships, known as Scholastic Achievement for Education (SAFE) Awards, to undergraduate and graduate college students pursuing a degree in occupational safety and health, industrial hygiene, or a related field. From 2005 to 2016, the Network has awarded $360,000 in SAFE Awards to college students. SAFE Awards will be presented again in 2017. KSHN is supporting a new initiative, OSHA 10-Hour Training for Career and Technical Education, aka OSHA 10-4-CTE. OSHA 10-4-CTE is a partnership between KSHN, the Kentucky Department of Education’s Office of Career and Technical Education, and Eastern Kentucky University's OSHA Training Institute Education Center to provide Authorized OSHA Outreach Trainer status to approximately 145 secondary school educators. The educators will in turn provide authorized OSHA 10-Hour General Industry and Construction training to high school seniors in manufacturing and construction pathways at approximately 95 secondary schools across the state. Learn more about OSHA 10-4 CTE and how you can support the initiative at the 2017 Conference and Exposition.
