Graduate Student / Post Doc Stipends

Thanks to support from the U.S. Department of Energy's Chemical Physics Program, and the Oak Ridge Associated Universities, we can now guarantee a stipend of $400 to the first 40 graduate students or post-docs who register for the Symposium.  To be eligible, you must present a poster or hot topic talk on your research and attend the full conference.  Funds will be provided as a reimbursement on the first day of the conference, August 2, 2015.

To further encourage participation of graduate students and post-docs, we have a very low rate ($273 per person) for 5 days of housing for the first 39 graduate students / post-docs who register. See the Fees & Lodging tab for details.

IJCK Editor's Fellowship

The International Journal of Chemical Kinetics announces the IJCK Editor’s Fellowship, which will sponsor a graduate student or post-doctoral researcher to attend the International Symposium on Free Radicals and present research in the field of chemical kinetics related to free radicals. This fellowship will cover the entire cost of conference registration.  To apply, please submit an abstract using the Free Radicals Abstract Template to Dr. Craig Taatjes (ijck@wiley.com) by April 30, 2015. The IJCK Editor, in consultation with his editorial staff, will choose the abstract that represents the most outstanding example of chemical kinetics research.  Applicants will be notified of the decision by May 15, 2015.

Abstracts will be chosen for oral or poster presentation by the International Symposium on Free Radicals program committee independently of the decision on the fellowship.

Stipends for Junior Level Faculty

To encourage participation of junior level faculty members, the U.S. Department of Energy's Chemical Physics Program will provide up to 6 stipends of at least $367.  To be eligible, you must be in your first 2 years as a professor at a college or university.  Funds will be provided as a reimbursement on the first day of the conference, August 2, 2015.  Please contact Dr. David Osborn if you would like to apply for this stipend.
