Lake Tahoe, Yosemite, and Beyond

Spouses, guests, and families are welcome to attend the 33rd Free Radicals Symposium, and you may wish to consider a vacation before or after the conference.  Olympic Valley is near Lake Tahoe, a huge lake with amazing water clarity ringed by mountains in the Sierra Nevada Range.  To the south lie Yosemite, Kings Canyon, and Sequoia National Parks, which boast some of the world's tallest waterfalls and the world's largest trees (Giant Sequoias).  To the west lies California's central valley and the San Francisco Bay Area.  From the mighty Golden Gate Bridge at the mouth of San Francisco Bay, to the world's first cyclotron in the Berkeley Hills, the Bay Area has a wide variety of cultural attractions to explore.  Some photographs below illustrate what you may see.

For a general list of activities near Lake Tahoe, see the TahoeGuide.
