The 39th University of North Carolina TEACCH Autism Program Conference is designed to provide professionals and caregivers information about early identification of ASD and highlight interventions for children in the early years.

    • Topic: Brain imaging and the early identification of ASD

  • Emily Rubin, MS, CCC-SLP, Marcus Autism Center
    • Topic: Using the SCERTS model to support young children with ASD

  • Lauren Turner-Brown, Ph.D., University of North Carolina School of Medicine 
    • Topic: The TEACCH for Toddlers model 

  • Amy M. Wetherby, Ph.D., CCC-SLP, Florida State University School of Medicine
    • Topic: The Early Social Interaction model and the Autism Navigator


Objectives:

  • Understand the neurobiological risk factors of early autism
  • Learn models of early detection and research-based interventions
  • Share methods for working with families of young children with autism


Target Audience:

This conference is designed for psychologists, speech language pathologists, social workers, educators, rehabilitation therapists, counselors, case managers, allied health professionals, persons with autism/parents, and other healthcare providers involved in the treatment of young children with ASD (ages 0-5 years).
