He had been president of the BCB company, at which he grew the organization to $100M in revenues in just four years. He lead the company to annual revenues in excess of $1.2B, and then sold it to Skanska AB. He joined Cousins in 2005 after the acquisition of his firm, The Gellerstedt Group.
