Course Goals

  1. To facilitate understanding of the etiology, differential diagnosis and management of sight threatening ocular inflammation
  2. To distinguish between types of eyelid trauma as well as various eyelid lumps and bumps 
  3. To recognize neuro-ophthalmic emergencies and discuss appropriate referral pathways
  4. To foster collaborative patient-centered eye care

Accreditation Statements
This event is an Accredited Group Learning Activity (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and approved by the University of Calgary Office of Continuing Medical Education and Professional Development. You may claim a maximum of 5.00 hours (credits are automatically calculated).

This program has been reviewed by the College of Family Physicians of Canada and is awaiting final certification by the College’s Alberta Chapter.

This program will be recognized by the Alberta College of Optometrists.

Transportation & Parking

Lister Centre is about a 3-block walk from the “Health Sciences/Jubilee” LRT Station. Parking is the responsibility of the attendee.  Parking is available directly outside the front doors of Lister Centre (Lot M) and along the side of the building (Lot R). The Saturday parking rate is $5.50/day.
