Love horses? Always wanted to ride a horse? Want to learn a new skill and increase your bond with your own horse? Then you'll want to sign up for 4-H Youth Horse Camp, a week-long, full-day horse camp open to kids ages 8-18 (as of January 1).

    • Important Note! On Mon., June 19, all participants should arrive by 8:30 AM to be assessed for skill level and group assignment. Advanced riders will then arrive by 7:30 AM., from Tue. to Fri. during camp, and be ready to ride.

Kids of all riding levels and riding disciplines are welcome. No prior riding experience - no problem! Campers will spend at least 1 ½ - 2 hours riding each day, in addition to hands-on learning, crafts, demos, games, and more!

If you have your own horse or pony and are able to trailer it to the 4-H Center, you can bring it to ride at camp! Your horse or pony must have good ground manners and be safe and suitable to be around kids and riders of all levels.  Any horse or pony that does not have the required documentation will not be allowed at camp.

Current negative Coggins Test result (dated within one year of show date) and Proof of a current Rabies vaccination (administered within one year of show date) are required prior to camp and must be presented when registering. Documentation must be received no later than June 9, 2017, or your registration will be canceled and forfeited.

Any horse or pony that does not have the required proof negative Coggins and Rabies vaccination will not be allowed on the show grounds and will not be allowed to be used at camp. Horses/ponies not safe and/or suitable for camp will be sent home.

All campers will need:

  • Riding shoes or boots with a heel
  • Long pants for riding
  • Insect repellent
  • Water bottle, snacks and lunches in marked bags
