The State of STEM in Black America

Increasing our representation in STEM presents a number of challenges. Underrepresented minorities still face substantial barriers, including limited access to quality math and science education in K-12. Schools serving lower-income and minority students have fewer resources to invest, and they employ fewer teachers with specialized training in math and science than do schools in affluent and white neighborhoods. 
We answered the ‘Call to Action’ for STEM programming throughout the Western Area. How are we doing? Where are the windows of opportunity? What are the best options for meeting the needs of our children?
