The BRAIN Initiative® Investigators Meeting will convene BRAIN Initiative awardees, staff, and leadership from the contributing federal agencies (NIH, NSF, DARPA, IARPA, and FDA), plus representatives and investigators from participating non-federal organizations, and members of the media, public, and Congress. The purpose of this open meeting is to provide a forum for discussing exciting scientific developments and potential new directions, and to identify areas for collaboration and research coordination.

Federal BRAIN awardees should refer to their agency-specific email and/or federal project/program manager for additional instructions and details regarding participation in this meeting.

As part of the government’s effort to be green all materials will be available in a free Meeting App and online via the Meeting Materials tab on this site. If you would like a printed version of any item, please plan to print on your own, prior to attending the meeting.

The target audience for this meeting includes:
  • Federally funded and non-federally funded BRAIN Initiative investigators
  • Non-federal organizations and groups invested in the BRAIN Initiative
  • BRAIN Initiative-related investigators at large

  • Members of Congress

There is no registration fee associated with this meeting. Registration closes on March 28, 2019 at 11:59 PM. On-site registration will be available. 

NOTE: We are no longer accepting abstract submissions for inclusion in the meeting materials. We can accommodate additional posters, though only the poster title and author list will be available. 2019 BRAIN Investigators Meeting - Science Communication Workshops

The 2019 BRAIN Initiative Investigators Meeting is featuring a three-part science communications series with one-hour daily workshops. The first workshop, How to talk to the public about BRAIN science will be led by NPR's Jon Hamilton at 10:30am on Thursday, April 11, 2019. The second workshop, How to talk to the media about BRAIN science, led by Betsy Stark, an Emmy Award winning journalist and former ABC News Business Correspondent, at 10:30am on Friday, April 12th. How to use social media to promote BRAIN science hosted by Rohan Verma, Vice President, Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide will conclude the 3-part series on Saturday, April 13th at 10:30am.
