The BRAIN Initiative® Investigators Meeting will convene BRAIN Initiative awardees, staff, and leadership from the contributing federal agencies (NIH, NSF, DARPA, IARPA, and FDA), plus representatives and investigators from participating non-federal organizations, and members of the media, public, and Congress. The purpose of this open meeting is to provide a forum for discussing exciting scientific developments and potential new directions, and to identify areas for collaboration and research coordination.

Federal BRAIN awardees should refer to their agency-specific email and/or federal project/program manager for additional instructions and details regarding participation in this meeting.

As part of the government’s effort to be green all materials will be available in a free Meeting App and online via the Meeting Materials tab on this site. If you would like a printed version of any item, please plan to print on your own, prior to attending the meeting.

The 2019 Program Committee for the 5th Annual BRAIN Initiative Investigators Meeting has narrowed the field to the top 20 photo and 10 video entries they feel capture the creative spirit of the BRAIN Initiative. Vote here or via Meeting app. Remember to stop by the exhibit in the Executive Corridor anytime Thursday, April 11th- Friday, April 12th. Voting closes on Friday, April 12th at 5:30pm. The top 3 photos and top 3 videos will be announced on Saturday, April 13th at the plenary session, and prizes given to the top winner in each category.

2019 BRAIN Investigators Meeting - Science Communication Workshops

The 2019 BRAIN Initiative Investigators Meeting is featuring a three-part science communications series with one-hour daily workshops. The first workshop, How to talk to the public about BRAIN science will be led by NPR's Jon Hamilton at 10:30am on Thursday, April 11, 2019. The second workshop, How to talk to the media about BRAIN science, led by Betsy Stark, an Emmy Award winning journalist and former ABC News Business Correspondent, at 10:30am on Friday, April 12th. How to use social media to promote BRAIN science hosted by Rohan Verma, Vice President, Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide will conclude the 3-part series on Saturday, April 13th at 10:30am. Make sure to reserve your spot! Walk-ins welcomed.
