Program Overview

‚ÄčThis activity is intended for internists, family practitioners, primary care and mid level providers, pain management physicians, neurologists, neurosurgeons, radiologists and other health care professionals who care for patients with cerebrovascular and neurological disorders.

At the conclusion of this activity participants should be able to:

  • Identify and describe key risk factors in the treatment of stroke.
  • Describe different treatment options for stroke patients.
  • Review the pathophysiology, diagnosis and management of peripheral neuropathy.
  • Describe the spectrum of treatments, including the common antiepileptic drugs and alternative therapies for epilepsy.
  • Review updates in the treatment of pituitary tumors.
  • Discuss new advances in the multidisciplinary treatment of brain and spine tumors.
  • Describe medical and surgical treatments available for movement disorders.
  • Recognize the gaps in current understanding of neuropathic pain and recognize areas of controversy meriting further research.
