Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) is the fastest expanding regional market since 2008, with the average fertilizer application rate rising from 7 kg/ha to 12 kg/ha in 2015. Faster growth, however, is needed to reach an average application rate of 30 kg/ha by 2030.
As part of IFA’s efforts to support faster expansion in SSA, IFA will host an “Africa SME Initiative” at IFA2017 in Marrakech: we are inviting a dozen medium-sized (non-IFA member) companies involved in the fertilizer value chain in SSA to join us in Marrakech, also as exhibitors, with a view towards linking key SSA players involved in fertilizer distribution with IFA members. IFA is grateful to AFAP, ETG and IRM for their support to this Initiative and their commitment to grow fertilizer use in Africa.
Underpinning the Association’s work programme carried out through its various committees, IFA conferences and meetings offer rich opportunities for members to exchange views on a number of key issues facing the fertilizer industry. Invited speakers contribute valuable information on the forces that influence the industry’s operating environment and highlight opportunities for industry outreach.
Conferences are financed by participating members through their delegates’ contributions to the organizational costs of each event and through event sponsorship.
Through its conferences, IFA strives to provide the right setting for its members to engage in networking and enhance their business contacts. Our goal is to provide quality programming in an atmosphere conducive to exchange within carefully selected facilities.
In pursuing this objective, we are dedicated to:• obtaining special rates for delegates in hotels profiled for a business-oriented clientele;• rallying the selected hotels to provide customized services for the meeting needs of our members;• offering a personalized reservation service, attuned to our members’ requirements and expectations.
Specific terms and conditions are negotiated within an overall conference package balancing the following criteria: • COST • FLEXIBILITY • QUALITY • COMMITMENT TO SERVICE
