Introduction to Minimally Invasive
Parafascicular Surgery (MIPS):
A Deficit-Sparing Approach

*Space for 24 Residents Available - PGY2 and up*

  • Intraventricular neuro-endoscopy

  • Endoscopic endonasal skull base surgery

  • Minimally-invasive endoscopic "keyhole" craniotomy

  • Perfusion-based simulation for intraventricular neuro-endoscopy, carotid artery injury, and CSF leak repair

  • Full day of exoscopic subcortical parafascicular neurosurgery

These topics and more will be addressed by faculty over the course of the two-day training, including current evidence on clinical and economical outcomes.  New technologies will be introduced as part of an efficient, integrated, systems approach, and a hands-on skills lab will provide same-day experience with the methods and technologies reviewed

The need for solutions to managing subcortical disease is at the forefront of this training aimed to provide surgeons an overview of new integrated methods for addressing these challenges.
