Thank you to all attendees and sponsors of the 9th Biennial U.S.-Africa Business Summit!
The Corporate Council on Africa hosted its 9th biennial U.S.-Africa Business Summit October 8-11, 2013 in Chicago, Illinois. This four-day conference brought together more than 1,000 public and private sector representatives from more than 70 countries to discuss the importance of expanding private sector trade and investment between the United States and the nations of Africa.
The conference highlighted the key areas in which our members feel Africa presents its greatest case for investment: agribusiness, energy, health, security, infrastructure, capacity building, ICT and finance. Attendees heard directly from various African governments through the Doing Business Forums, hosted by the governments of Benin, Cote d’Ivoire, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ghana, Mozambique, Nigeria and South Africa.
The conference kicked off with a keynote presentation by His Excellency Augustin Matata Ponyo, Prime Minster of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and featured an active Expo with more than 55 exhibitors and numerous networking opportunities through which countless connections and new business deals were made throughout the week.
Thank you to all of those who attended the conference and to the generous Summit sponsors, without whom this event would not be possible.
Mark your calendars now for the 10th biennial U.S.-Africa Business Summit in the fall of 2015.
