Sarah Kier has 15 years of experience working in healthcare and is currently serving as the Director of Operations for Patient Access and Referral Management with The Emory Clinic. Sarah is responsible for leading the Patient Access Capacity Management and Access Optimization teams to drive improvements across the Emory Healthcare enterprise. The Capacity Management team works to intentionally design, monitor & maintain provider schedules and schedule guides to best match supply, demand, and capacity at both micro and macro levels across the organization. The Access Optimization team focuses on metric acceleration and reporting, process improvement, project management, predictive analysis & modeling, section partnership and engagement, and technology enhancements. Referral Management at Emory is focused on creating an ideal experience for patients and providers throughout the lifecycle of the referral, from request to appointing, to communication post visit. Before her time at Emory, Sarah worked at Northwestern Memorial Hospital focusing on access and surgery scheduling, Northwestern Medical Faculty Foundation focusing on Physician Group Practice administration for several sections, and the University of Chicago focusing on ambulatory process improvement. Sarah holds a Bachelor’s degree in Management and Organizational Design from Loyola University of Chicago and a six sigma green belt certification from Northwestern Medicine.
