Dear Friend of the AAFPRS,
Thank you for considering a gift to the Educational and Research Foundation for the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS Foundation) a 501 (c) 3 organization.
The Foundation was created to address the medical and scientific issues of an ever changing global environment. To address these challenges the LEARN portal (Lifelong Educational And Research Network) was conceived, developed and implemented to assist facial plastic surgeons in their daily pursuit of educational excellence. A new Research Center was established to ensure the latest in science and technology for the ultimate in patient care and safety.
The FACE TO FACE humanitarian programs were established to assist individuals in need in this country and abroad.
FACE TO FACE: International helps primarily children in other countries that have been abandoned due to their facial deformities caused by birth or trauma.
Unlike other programs, FACE TO FACE: International makes the educational exchange among facial plastic and reconstructive surgeons all over the world an integral part of its program. Our surgeons are men and women who believe that a more lasting impact is made in communities when our FACE TO FACE teams work side by side with local medical personnel to manage an individual's care.
FACE TO FACE: The National Domestic Violence Project offers individuals who have been affected by domestic violence the hope of wholeness by treating the facial injuries.
AAFPRS members volunteer to help victims of domestic abuse who cannot afford to receive treatment for facial injuries. These efforts repair both physical and psychological scars and help individuals to regain self-esteem and begin to rebuild their lives.
FACES OF HONOR
We are pleased that in 2009 FACES OF HONOR joined our FACE TO FACE Programs. The purpose of FACES OF HONOR is to offer pro bono medical and surgical expertise to veterans who received face, head, or neck injuries while serving our Country.
Our motivation is simple: provide a "thank you" to the brave men and women who have served our country so well, by offering our surgical expertise and skills as caring physicians.
Your contribution will ensure that these critical programs continue to grow and expand offering members the excellence in education, research and humanitarian efforts that is unsurpassed in the specialty.
