El Movimiento of the sixties and seventies made a significant and lasting impact on the history of Colorado. Commemorate and celebrate the accomplishments of the Chicano Movement in Colorado at a special program and reception at the History Colorado Center. You are invited to an AARP program featuring presentations by: Councilman Paul Lopez on the legacy of the Chicano Movement, Nita Gonzales on the Crusade for Justice, Shirley Romero Otero on the land grants struggle, a play by Su Teatro theater company, poetry, and music. View exhibits on: • Chicano Movement art • Vietnam War • Labor Movement • United Farm Workers Boycott • College and High School Student Movements • Crusade for Justice • La Mujer • Land Grants Struggle After program there will be a reception with music by Freddie Rodriguez Jr. and complimentary refreshments and hors d’oeuvres.
