Advanced Practical Aviation Medicine

OVERVIEW

This exciting course will give you a rare opportunity to personally experience many of the key areas of aviation physiology. Participants on this course will be given the opportunity to fly a dedicated spatial disorientation simulator, experience hypoxia and decompression in an altitude chamber, and ride a centrifuge to experience high G.

This is a practically focused course, which will not only provide an opportunity to refresh key elements of your knowledge of aviation medicine, but will also give you first-hand practical experience of some important aviation medicine principles.

This course requires a minimum number of students in order to run. If we have not met the minimum number by the 8th of January, this course will not run in 2018. Therefore, we ask that you register ASAP to ensure we get a true representation of interest. We also advise registered students to wait until after the 8th of January to book their flights and accommodation in case the course is cancelled. Registered students will be notified ASAP once the course reaches minimum number.

Students registering for the centrifuge experience must complete a medical, which includes an ECG, prior to course commencement. Please bring evidence of this to the course.

Students must bring their passport along to each day of the course.

The Swissôtel Stamford is recommended accommodation; however, there are many options to choose from within the area of the course location.
