We are fortunate to feature Victoria Soltis-Jarrett, PhD, PMHCNS/NP-BC, FAANP, Carol Morde Ross Distinguished Professor of Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing in the School of Nursing at the University of North Carolina- Chapel Hill. Our Keynote Speaker for the day, Dr. Soltis-Jarrett has devoted much of her extensive career to improving rural mental health care and integrating behavioral health into a variety of settings. Dr. Soltis-Jarrett will discuss “Advancing Whole Health Care is the Future: How Nurses and NPs Can Lead the Way in North Carolina," sharing her significant expertise in the topic of integrated care.

We are excited to have a number of other expert clinicians presenting other highly timely topics:

Deborah Shelton, PhD, RN, NE-BC, CCHP, FAAN and Ramesh Upadhyaya, MSN, MBA, RN, CRRN will address the mental health needs of individuals involved in the justice system.

Michael Baca-Atlas, MD will discuss the opioid epidemic, emphasizing the approaches used in medication-assisted treatment.

Debbie Granick, MPH, LCSW, PMHNP-BC will introduce participants to motivational interviewing.

Nancy Berson, MSW, LCSW will review trauma across the lifespan.

Annie Snyder, AA will present “Purpose in the Pain, Empathy=Empowerment.
