Thank you for your interest to register for Advocacy Day 2017! OFN’s Advocacy Day will be held on Tuesday, May 16 to Wednesday, May 17, 2017, in Washington, DC. The registration deadline is March 24, 2017. Advocacy Day is open to all OFN Members and OFN CDFI allies. We value your time and expertise and there is no registration fee for this event. The requirements for participants include:• joining a webinar prior to the event,• participating in an advocacy training on May 17, and• attending all previously scheduled meetings on May 17. During your meetings we ask that you share your stories about how your CDFIs or CDFI partnerships have provided access to capital where is most needed. You will share your stories with legislators, Administration officials, and their staff which will help them better understand why our industry is so vital to the well-being of communities across our country.If your plans change after registering for Advocacy Day, please let us know immediately. Scheduling meetings on the Hill and with Administration officials requires a great deal of coordinating and we want to ensure the best possible Advocacy Day for all of our participants. For cancellations after May 1, 2017, you will be responsible for identifying and sending a representative that can participate on your behalf. Advocacy Day 2017 will kick off on May 16 with OFN’s CDFI Congressional Awards reception from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. The reception will be held on the Hill, and attended by members of Congress, their staffs, Administration officials, and industry leaders. On Wednesday, May 17, OFN will host an advocacy training for participants at the Liaison Capitol Hill Hotel starting at 8:00am. Participants will then attend meetings on the Hill and with federal agencies from 9:30am to 6:00pm. OFN will schedule your meetings and prepare all the advocacy materials you will need for an effective Advocacy Day. OFN has reserved a room block at the Liaison Capitol Hill Hotel, 415 New Jersey Ave NW, Washington, DC., which is only a short distance from the Capitol. The room rate is $299 per night plus taxes & fees.
