Agile Strategy Workshop to Improve 3-5 Year Outcomes for Gallatin Valley Entrepreneurs

This event is closed. If you have any questions, please contact the planner directly.

The Governor’s Office of Economic Development and the Bozeman Chapter of the Montana Ambassadors would like you to join us for an exclusive and important initiative to improve outcomes for Montana's Entrepreneurs.

Montana has consistently ranked #1 for startup activity on the Kauffman Index. However, in 2016, Montana ranked only 48th nationally on the Kauffman Index of growth entrepreneurship (a 5-year outcome measurement for entrepreneurs). The Gallatin Valley is awash with resources and support – how can we better help our local entrepreneurs be much more successful?

We invite you to bring your thoughts, voice, and most importantly, actions, to the framing question:

What would it look like if Montana's Entrepreneurs had best in class three-to-five year outcomes?

This workshop is the kick-off for an initiative to continuously improve our local entrepreneurial ecosystem, using an Agile Strategy and Collaborative Leadership method developed at the Purdue Agile Strategy Lab

According to Niles Hushka, retired President and CEO of KLJ Solutions, "Entrepreneurs must quickly grow and leverage their trusted networks to improve their chances of success. Those who don't are likely to fail."

Our eight-hour, hands-on, and participatory workshop will launch a ninety-day “act-learn-do-achieve” program, driven by a network of engaged entrepreneurs and trusted supporters, each of us volunteering one hour per month for three months. This is your chance to bring your network, assets, and work effort to help achieve better outcomes, quicker. We'll follow a structured process, developed on the premise that collaborative leadership is essential to transform complex challenges into more success for our local entrepreneurs.

This initiative is supported by the Montana Governor's Office of Economic Development, the City of Bozeman, the Bozeman Chapter of the Montana Ambassadors, Montana's Small Business Development Center, Bozeman Job Service, First West Insurance, the Montana Women's Business Center, and MSU's Montana Manufacturing Extension Center.

We gratefully acknowledge our charter financial partner Rocky Mountain Bank, and sincerely appreciate additional sponsorship from Big Sky Western Bank, MSU's Jake Jabs College of Business and Entrepreneurship, the Blackstone LaunchPad and 406 Labs at Montana State University, Niles Hushka, P.E., First West Insurance, Firebrand Creative, and Northwestern Energy. We would also like to thank Prospera Business Network, Montana Women's Business Center, and Blackfoot Communications for graciously supporting the post-event networking reception.
