The older population (65 years or older) numbered 39.6 million in 2009. This population is not only increasing, but it becoming more ethnically diverse. Because of this growth it is critical that professionals in all disciplines be familiar with issues of health, wellness, and mental health among a diverse older adult population. This 10 hour course will cover the bio-psycho-social and spiritual factors which shape all of us as we age. This interactive course will use the Standford Ethnogeriatrics curriculum as a foundation for training in aging and long term care. The course will also include resources for the older adult population.
