Increasingly, disability resource staff are being asked to have a plan for assessing the knowledge, skills, and attitudes that students will acquire through their interactions with the office. This can be a challenging exercise for an office primarily engaged in removing barriers; however, as a partner in the overall institutional mission, we have an obligation to understand and respond to these requests. This package of webinars will provide the foundation to do so. The presenters, both formal AHEAD liaisons to the Council on Academic Standards (CAS) and long-term disability services directors, will begin with background information on SLOs and the CAS Standards for Disability Resources & Services. Throughout the three-hours of instruction, they will explore issues significant to how SLOs fit, or don’t fit, with disability services work and share ideas for developing meaningful, measurable SLOs for your office and campus.
