Budget Based Rent Increase Training
The Budget Based Rent Increase training is for multifamily housing industry professionals overseeing properties with HAP contracts. (Sorry, but the training will not cover PRACs). The training will be a step-by-step process for owners and agents and will include all required forms and related materials to ensure a complete package for smoother processing. Attendees should plan to bring paper, pen and a calculator.
About the Trainers: Charles Young is the State Manager of CAHI/CGI Federal. He has over 12 years of experience in affordable housing, and has worked in various roles in the Northern California PBCA since its start up in October 2004. Over the years he has conducted MORs, processed vouchers, special claims, rent adjustments and contract renewals; he has also given presentations and trainings for O/A’s, HUD, AHMA-NCH and NCSHA. Currently, he oversees the day-to-day operations of the PBCA. Prior to that, Charles worked at the Oakland Housing Authority helping manage social services grants for public housing residents.Brian Ried is a Central Contract Specialist at CAHI/CGI Federal, joining the Northern California PBCA in May 2009. As a Senior CCS, he acts as a mentor for new Specialists to ensure they become proficient in processing HAP vouchers, special claims, contract renewals, and rent adjustments. His previous work experience was in the mortgage & loan servicing industry, specializing in the HUD reverse mortgage program.
Darline Burrell is a Asset Management Manager and has been with CAHI over 10 years. Darline supervises CAHI’s Central Contract Specialists performing contract renewals, rent adjustments and monthly HAP vouchers. She is responsible for monitoring and reviewing all core tasks for the 552 properties in CAHI’s portfolio.. In addition, she is also CAHI’s main point of contact working with HUD on 20 year early terms and helped to develop the existing policy.
