In the spirit of AIA’s “Walk the Walk” sustainability initiative and guidelines offered by the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE), the AIA Wisconsin Convention Committee is proud to provide a professional conference with:

  • A venue recognized as the first LEED-EB Silver Convention Center in the United States by the U.S. Green Building Council.
  • A Smart Phone APP instead of a printed program booklet.
  • Appropriate handouts printed on recycled paper utilizing two-sided printing whenever possible.
  • A digital signage program.
  • Use of email and electronic promotion with minimal printed items (limited to postcards).
  • Paper-free online registration to eliminate faxes, checks, postage (fuel) and printed registration forms. And, by selecting the seminars and special events you will be attending through the online registration, accurate participation counts allow for appropriate orders of food and materials to reduce over-ordering and waste.
  • Prominent recycling receptacles throughout the convention site and opportunities for Exhibitors and Attendees to actively participate by using available mass transit and other amenities conducive to a sustainable event, such as carafes of water rather than individual bottles in meeting rooms.
