The Alabama Dance Council proudly presents two guest companies-in-residence for the twenty-second Alabama Dance Festival: Rosy Simas Danse in the Dorothy Jemison Day Theatre and Rosie Herrera Dance Theatre, co-presented with UAB’s Alys Stephens Center. The 2019 Festival is the dance community's celebration of Alabama's Bicentennial as a state (1819-2019). We are exploring Alabama's cultural perspectives through dance, connecting people and communities by sharing stories and movement. Join us for this vibrant celebration and journey through dance! Professional dancers, teachers, college dancers, and pre-professional dancers in grades 6–12 can register for weekend packages that include master classes, workshops, and performance tickets on January 18-27. The Festival also offers special scholarship audition classes for summer intensive programs and college/university dance programs. We look forward to seeing you in January!
