Campus Terrain & Climate

20120611_SGCS_Campus_Students_04The Norwich campus is located in the beautiful Green Mountains of Vermont so be prepared for hilly terrain, lots of stairs, and walking from one end of the campus to the other for events. We strongly encourage you to have comfortable walking shoes available.

While June is typically a temperate month, Vermont weather is often unpredictable. Be sure to bring a sweater, rain coat, umbrella, and jacket to avoid a last-minute trip to Walmart, which is about 20 minutes from campus!

During the 2018 World Congress, Norwich University will be in the process of completing the construction of our newest academic building, Mack Hall. Please be mindful of the construction signage and fencing.

Cell Phone Coverage

Cell phone coverage is spotty throughout Vermont. If traveling by car, check the cities and towns through which you may be driving to see if your carrier has reception in these areas:

While on the Norwich University campus and in Northfield, cell service should be strong and reliable, but we recommend that you check our location (05663) with your cell provider to be certain you can make and receive calls while on campus.

Wireless Internet

Norwich University will provide wireless Internet access (WiFi) to guests during the 2018 World Congress.  Access is available throughout campus, including in the classrooms and the dorms.  Instructions for accessing the network and assistance with getting online will be provided by the Norwich University upon your arrival.

Amenities and Services

The campus offers a variety of services and amenities that will be available to you during your time on campus. For those who enjoy an active lifestyle, all gyms will be open and accessible during the week and there will be posted hours for the swimming pool. Meals will be served in the dining hall during the week but the Dunkin' Donuts, Mill Snack Bar and the Partridge Pub, all located on campus, will be open at various hours during the week.
