20120610_SGCS_Res_Campus_10The ALARA World Congress will be held on the beautiful Norwich University campus in Northfield, Vermont. Participants may elect to stay on campus in a traditional college dorm room or make arrangements to stay off campus in one of the local area accommodations.

Northfield, Vermont, like the typical Vermont town, is a small, rural area and offers only a few local establishments for guests who elect to stay off campus. The state of Vermont has long distances between population centers and few, if any, forms of public transportation. It is recommended that you research the surrounding area well and make your travel arrangements early.

On Campus Accommodations

You may enjoy the convenience of staying on campus with proximity to campus dining, exercise, and social places. If you choose to stay on campus during the ALARA World Congress, you will be accommodated in a traditional college dorm room. The cost of reserving a dorm room is $80 (plus 9% tax) per person per night.

Dorm life will require that you bring toiletries, flip-flops or shower shoes, hair dryer, travel iron, hangers, alarm clock, sewing kit, safety pins. Remember, this is not a hotel.

Campus housing includes:

  • bunk beds
  • sheets, pillow, blanket
  • towels and washcloth
  • shared public bathrooms
  • rooms do not have air conditioning, but are equipped with room fans
  • wireless Internet access

Off Campus Accommodations

If you prefer to stay off campus, we strongly recommend that you reserve your accommodations early. There are a few small B & Bs within the area surrounding the campus, but most hotels are from 20 minutes to an hour away--and they do fill up quickly. Please do not delay in securing your accommodations.

For your convenience, Norwich University and ALARA have contracted with the Sugarbush Resort to host the participants of the 2018 World Congress.
