20120610_SGCS_Res_Campus_10The ALARA World Congress will be held on the beautiful Norwich University campus in Northfield, Vermont. Participants may elect to stay on campus in a traditional college dorm room or make arrangements to stay off campus in one of the local area accommodations.

Northfield, Vermont, like the typical Vermont town, is a small, rural area and offers only a few local establishments for guests who elect to stay off campus. The state of Vermont has long distances between population centers and few, if any, forms of public transportation. It is recommended that you research the surrounding area well and make your travel arrangements early. 


Off Campus Accommodations

We strongly recommend that you reserve your accommodations early. There are a few small B & Bs within the area surrounding the campus, but most hotels are from 20 minutes to an hour away--and they do fill up quickly. Please do not delay in securing your accommodations.

The Elizabethan Inn is a short walk from Norwich University and has a limited number of rooms available. They have a five night minimum stay and the rates are as follows:
Room with continental breakfast: $130.00 + tax $11.70 = $141.70
Room only: $120.00 + tax $10.80 = $130.80

For your convenience, Norwich University and ALARA have contacted the Sugarbush Resort to host the participants of the 2018 World Congress. Shuttle service between the resort and the Norwich University campus will be provided. Rooms may fill up quickly, so make sure that you reserve yours early.

All guest rooms are quoted on a per night basis in US dollars and include Vermont tax and service fees.


Sugarbush includes two mountain areas, a fully appointed Health and Recreation Club, multiple lodging options, Sugarbush Resort Golf Club, an array of dining venues and more. Year-round, the resort staffs approximately 450 employees, and in the height of the winter season employees number close to 1,000.

Additional guest room reservations can be made at The Warren Lodge located at 731 VT Route 100, Warren, VT and approximately 1.5 miles closer to Norwich University than Sugarbush Resort. Please note that there is a two night minimum and a deposit in the full amount of your stay is required at the time you make your reservation. There is a 30 day cancellation, if you cancel your reservation less than 30 days prior to your arrival, you forfeit your deposit. Transportation will be provided between Norwich University and Sugarbush Resort or The Warren Lodge. If your accommodations are somewhere other than Sugarbush Resort or the Warren Lodge, transportation will be up to you.
