65 by 2025 - Learn, Connect, Develop!

The Alaska Postsecondary Access & Completion Network announces its 2nd Annual Conference, March 22-23, 2016 in Anchorage, AK at the Marriott Downtown.  We invite you to Learn - Connect - Develop as we come together to improve postsecondary access & completion for Alaskans.

Alaska continues to be 49th in the nation in regards to postsecondary access and completion.

We can and must change this to meet the future workforce needs of our state.  In times when doing more with less is becoming critical, it is ever more important that we come together to collectively change what we cannot change alone.

Formed to address Alaska's postsecondary crisis & to bring together organizations invested in postsecondary access & completion, the Network is committed to increase the percentage of working-age adults holding a high-value certificate, college degree, or other industry-recognized credential, including apprenticeship completion, to 65% by the year 2025.  We invite you to join in this effort & be a part of reaching for the 65 by 2025 goal.

The 2016 Postsecondary Access & Completion Conference is a time for Alaskans - professionals in education, business, industry, public service - to unite & work together to increase the number of Alaskans enrolling & succeeding in postsecondary education.

By participating in this conference, you will:

  •  The important message behind the Network's postsecondary attainment goal of 65% by 2025
  • What programs & best practices in Alaska currently advance the attainment goal
  • Specific ways to impact the attainment goal with practical information & current resources

  • And build relationships with others engaged in advancing the goal
  • To link Alaska's support programs for students & working-age individuals on the path to a postsecondary credential

  • Partnerships & networks that will allow you to collaborate & reach your organization's goals
  • New resources that can be shared across the state

Conference sessions will focus on the key Network Themes of:

Expectations, Preparation, Affordability & Support Services.

New for 2016, we invite you to participate in one of four "Meeting of the Minds" work sessions - come be a part of the solution!

Sessions will take place on Wednesday afternoon following the closing luncheon.  Participants will partner with others to develop tangible work products in one of the four areas:

  • Affordability: “Promote ways Alaskans can afford postsecondary training” (Learn more)
  • Expectations: “Provide a common message and call to action in support of 65 by 2025” (Learn more)
  • Preparation: “Highlight academic preparation resources”(Learn more)
  • Support Services: “Create tools to support the development of local partnerships”(Learn more)
