This course is designed to teach Psychologists and other mental health professionals conceptualization and strategies for improving anger control and conflict resolution. Methods for recognizing, measuring, and treating anger-driven conflict will be described from the perspective of different evidence based practices. Maintaining one’s own calmness and encouraging emotional self-regulation in clients, in both the short-and long-term, will also be addressed. Finally, a four step process for conflict resolution will be described and demonstrated.
After attending this seminar, you should be able to:
Define anger and conflict from the perspectives of four different EBPs
Practice interventions for resolving and preventing conflict that results from anger
Practice strategies for maintaining one’s own calmness
Encourage emotional self-regulation in others
Practice the four-step process for conflict resolution
