Releasing Leadership Brilliance: How to Empathize, Engage and Energize Your Culture

Stale. Stuck. Spiritless. This is what a leader, then a team, and ultimately a business becomes when mojo is lost. In order to ignite a fresh mindset that enables a team and a business to thrive, one must stop simply communicating and start connecting. Connection begins when you make a commitment to bring out the best in yourself and everyone around you. This challenges others to raise their engagement and productivity. The ultimate benefactors of this shift in thinking are customers and team members who opt-in to become your brand champions. Upon completion of this experience, learning participants will emerge with a plan of action to:

    • Revitalize their role within their team and line of business
    • Improve their ability to connect with others instead of just communicating
    • Create a high-performing team and culture that exceeds expectations.

    Developing an Engaged Workforce
    Limelight C
The market changes at a dizzying pace. To survive, your organization must be able to adapt quickly to those changes. That requires engaged employees who love their work and who are willing to use discretionary effort without being asked. Unfortunately, only about 32% of American workers are “engaged.” Join Brian Marshall as he discusses practical insights into raising employee engagement, and developing a workforce that learns rapidly and is primed to face complex and unpredictable environments. Brian is the Director of Human Resources at AmeriBen and the President of the Boise Chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management.

    Beyond Success: Leadership Family Tree

We want to be successful. But, success is shallow and insignificant compared to a leadership legacy. Success is impacting those we can see. What then is beyond success? Andy Fujimoto, CEO of AmeriBen, sees leadership and success as multi-generational. Through the sharing of leadership principles with your “children” (aka, individuals with whom we interact in family, business, community, and the world), who teach about leadership to your “grandchildren,” who then teach about leadership to your “great-grandchildren,” and so on. This becomes your leadership legacy. Maximizing not only your relationships with those you can see, but creating a legacy for those you cannot is the secret to your leadership legacy. Effectively architecting our legacy as we build today for tomorrow changes what we do and think today. Come and explore these principles as you build your legacy today.

    Supercharging Succession Planning
    Limelight C
American businesses are struggling to stay competitive in a global jobs market that siphons top talent, and are experiencing a significant skills gap that makes the future uncertain. In a recent study, fully 77% of CEOs have concern over the apparent unavailability of key skills, 60% say it makes it harder to fill jobs, and 29% say the talent gap impacts strategic investments. To combat these pressures, businesses are providing employees with low-risk leadership challenges to develop in-demand skills within their current workforce. AmeriBen has been doing this for more than 10 years with a group called the Pulse. Join Sheena Boyd, 2016-2017 Pulse Lead, to see how to grow both business and soft skills needed for sustainable high performing leadership at all levels of an organization.

    The Politics of Healthcare
    Limelight C

Can’t we all just get along? Regarding these topics, apparently not. No matter what measures Congress passes or the President recommends, the debate will continue on the best way to provide quality care to the general population. The push and pull between corporate profits and affordable premiums fuels debate that may often seem more about political posturing than the actual subject of healthcare. How do we go beyond the debate and get moving? What is the role of the state versus the federal government? Matt Ingersoll will engage Tommy Ahlquist, ER doctor and current candidate for Governor of Idaho, to explore the political side of the healthcare discussion and how we can move from words to actions.
