This month’s presentation will focus on identifying and managing risks related to HR strategy, policies and procedures. The presentation will include two main sessions presented by a panel of HR specialists from KPMG LLP. The first session will include a comprehensive review of the technical requirements of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), including issues related to coverage, exemptions, reporting and potential penalties. This session will also include a discussion of the practical issues surrounding the management of ACA exposure and common issues that have emerged following the first year of reporting.
The second session will include a broad discussion of risks in the HR function. Our panel of specialists will consider the strategic, financial, operational and compliance risks associated with various HR issues, including risks related to qualified retirement plans, executive compensation and governance, equity compensation and overall talent risks. These topical areas will be considered through both a domestic and international lens. In addition, the panel will address the unique concerns of managing HR risks in corporate transactions, including acquisitions and divestitures. Finally, the panel will address emerging concerns to the HR function such as the upcoming CEO pay ratio disclosure requirement, pay equity pressures, transition to cloud-based HR systems, managing business travelers and the changing nature of employment relationships.
