Full work-study positions are reserved for a few applicants who cancommit to significant work time in advance of -- AND/OR SUBSEQUENT TO --the event for event promotion and other activities as directed by theevent producer or a ysi board member. Duties may include promotions,flyer distribution, marketing and other activities. This commitment isin addition to standard work-study duties during the actual event-dates(see below). Full work-study positions are generally best suited forapplicants who reside in or near the area of the event. Benefit: 100%fee waiver. Obligation: work 1 hour for each $10 of fee waived. Example:for a $250 event, you would receive $250 credit in exchange for working25 hours. Each workstudy participant will be responsible formaintaining a log of their own hours.Half work-study positions includeduties such as event setup, daily venue cleaning (including floors,bathrooms, walkways, trash pick-up and removal), photocopying and othervarious errands and duties as directed by the event producer ordesignee. Duties may also include a limited amount of follow up workafter the event, e.g. grading homework, compiling reports. Benefit: 50%fee waiver.
Obligation: Commitment to work 1 hour for each $10of fee waived. Example: for a $250 event, you would receive $125 creditin exchange for working 12.5 hours. Each workstudy participant will beresponsible for maintaining a log of their own hours.
Applicationsare generally due 30 days prior to the course start date, except forresidential events, or any event with our Founders, Geshe Michael Roach& Lama Christie McNally, which are due 60 days prior.

Students unable to pay course fees may apply for a scholarship. Ourscholarship fund is limited, but we will do our best to meet ourstudents' needs.Applications are generally due 30 days prior to thecourse you wish to attend, but some larger courses have advanceddeadlines of 60 days prior. Courses that have this special deadline willbe indicated as such on the Events Pages.
