Asset Closure & Demolition

This event has been cancelled. If you have any questions, please contact the event planner directly.

Having to consider closing manufacturing assets, due to their competitive position, is a reality of the current economy.

During this process a range of outcomes, from business turnaround to shutting a whole site and selling off the land, must be considered. Other options include mothballing (for restart, sale or delay) and a range of scales of demolition (part or all of a site and to ground level or below). The correct choice is not always clear and can be a complex decision dependent on rapidly changing circumstances - e.g. product markets, redundant equipment value, material prices impacting scrap, legislation. Reliable information is an important element in making sure that the right choices are made. The costs and issues of each option must be explored and understood fully to ensure the most beneficial choice is made.

The seminar will discuss:
- The key areas to consider in closing down assets, either temporarily or permanently
- The issues around mothballing, decommissioning and plant isolations
- Best practice in demolition management and what can go wrong
- The lessons learned from the successes and difficulties of site operators

We have reserved a limited number of hotel rooms at a preferential rate for bed & breakfast. Details will be included with your confirmation.
